AUT presents a double bill of experimental music in Aarhus (UngK) in collaboration with Fanø Free Folk Festival.
We’re delighted to welcome Finnish artist Islaja to Aarhus, to play a set ahead of her performance at Fanø Free Folk Festival.
The event also features ‘Finale’, a performance by Aarhus-based electronic musician Christian Stenbro.

About Islaja:

With her haunting vocals and shamanistic melodies, Finnish Islaja - aka Merja Kokkonen - takes her audience on a journey to other worlds.
Over the course of her fascinating career, she has explored multiple genres, moving from the psychedelic folk of her early albums to
quirky electronic music to her current music, which draws inspiration from ambient and modern classical music.
Kokkonen was born in 1979. Under the artist name Islaja, she made her debut in 2004 on the Finnish experimental label Fonal with the album Meritie.
She has since released several internationally acclaimed albums on Fonal, as well as releases on international labels such as Ecstatic Peace! and Monika Enterprise.
